The lake offers the ideal training environment for beginners and improvers alike. All of the courses use the latest equipment, while our friendly instructors and coaches are fully qualified to teach national programmes set out by the Royal Yachting Association for Sailing, Windsurfing and Powerboating, British Rowing for rowing and British Canoeing for paddle-sports.
The centre is fully equipped to accommodate people with a range of needs both on and off the water. With the help of hoists and specialist boats we can provide people the opportunity of an on the water experience and learn a new skill.
This is the ideal place to experience a wide variety of water-sports including sailing, windsurfing and powerboating. We offer people of all abilities the opportunity to join us and train towards a National Governing Body award in:
Sailing, windsurfing, powerboating, rowing, canoeing and kayaking.
Courses are run at weekends throughout the year, see brochure for details. Alternatively courses can be offered at times to suit you by prior arrangement. Holiday courses for children are offered as Kidz H2O.

Each school holiday, children aged 8 to 16 can take part in a range of exciting activities including multi activity camps, sailing camps, paddling camps and windsurfing camps. We offer anything from a two hour session to a week long course, the Active Kidz sessions are aimed at kids in years 1 to 4 while all other sessions are for children between 8-16 years old.

No experience needed, novices welcome – just don’t forget a change of clothes, shoes and a towel! This is a great opportunity to work towards your H2O Passport or develop specific skills with the help of our highly experienced coaches.
All are welcome over the age of 8. Session options include windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding.
- £30 per hour for up to 3 people
- Minimum of 2 hours recommended
- Booking required 1 week in advance
Each weekend throughout the year, beginners of all ages can learn sailing, windsurfing, paddling and rowing. There is no need to wait for the start of the next programme, you can join at any time and families are welcome.
Once you have completed your Intro H2O course you will be awarded with our H2O passport which will enable passport holders to take advantage of H2O hire.
- £8 per session or a six week block for £40
- Saturday 10:00-12:00 Rowing
- Sunday 10:00-12:00 Sailing, windsurfing or paddling.
Once you have your H2O passport or National Governing Body Certificate, you can come along and hire one of our rowing boats, sit-on-top kayaks, open canoes and stand up paddleboards.
All the equipment can be hired subject to ability which can be demonstrated using the H2O Passport or certificate of competence.
All over the age of 8 are welcome (under adult supervision), except for the hire of rowing boats which is subject to the safety equipment fitting correctly.
- £7.50 per 30 mins, purchase 2 hours and receive the 3rd hour free

Do you enjoy going out on the water often but don’t want the inconvenience of owning your own equipment?
H2O Membership entitles you to unlimited use of the centre equipment (subject to availability).
Our H2O passport or a national governing body certificates is needed to demonstrate that you meet the minimum standard required for membership.
- £28 per month
If you have your own dinghy, windsurf, kayak, canoe or SUP you can pay to use our facilities on either a day by day basis or become a member and get afloat as much as you want.
- £12 per day or become a member for £28 per month
Open water swimming is currently going through a boom with participation numbers rising rapidly. Whether you are training for your next triathlon or you are a recreational swimmer, you are welcome to join in our supervised sessions from April to September. Click here to view our resident clubs.
