Schools & Groups

At Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre, we aim to deliver high quality, creative outdoor learning programmes to a wide range of user groups. Our centre is fully accessible and we provide an array of fully inclusive programmes.

The centre has been approved by the Adventurous Activities Licensing Service to ensure that safety management is of the highest standard and staff are appropriately trained. In addition, the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom has awarded the centre the Quality Badge which demonstrates the quality and variety of programmes delivered. We also ensure that such learning experiences compliment the national curriculum.

Out on the lake, we use the most up to date equipment and our friendly coaches are fully qualified to teach nationally recognised programmes set out by the Royal Yachting Association, British Canoeing, British Rowing and the National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme.

We believe in making all activities inclusive and we use specialist equipment and experienced instructors, allowing us to customise activities of your choice to suit the needs of your group. We will work closely with you to develop a suitable programme which meets any physical learning, emotional or behavioural needs.

Improving your leaning experience & learning outside the classroom

Upon booking we will work with your group leader to identify key learning outcomes in areas of skill, knowledge, experience and understanding. We will design a flexible programme with the specific needs of your group in mind.

Our team of highly qualified outdoor instructors will utilise the ‘Plan, Do, Review’ model of experiential learning to deliver a structured outdoor learning experience exploring the extensive range of activities we have on offer.

Many of these programmes can be accredited using GCSE, BTEC or National Governing Body Awards. We are accredited by a number of bodies to ensure that all activities are delivered to highest standards both in terms of the coaching, educational outcomes and safety; these bodies include Adventurous Activities Licensing Authority, Adventure Activity Industry Advisory Committee, Council for Learning Outside the Classroom, Royal Yachting Association, British Canoeing and British Rowing.
