Lakeside Inclusive

Positive_Futures

As part of the short breaks provision for disabled children and young people Sefton Positive Futures, alongside Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre, offer a range of both inclusive and targeted activities. We currently work with disabled children and adults from schools, youth groups, colleges and day centre's providing both water sports and adventurous activities.

Water sports include kayaking, canoeing, dragon boating, raft building, sailing, wind surfing and bell boating. Adventurous activities include Wheels for All, climbing and orienteering. We aim to develop activities to suit individuals or groups and can promote development by providing accreditation in selected activities.

Positive Futures also provide overnight short breaks. Using Aiming High for Disabled Children capital funding we have been able to provide a short breaks lounge so that groups of disabled children and young people can chill out with friends after a fun filled day of activities and the small kitchen area allows the development of independent living skills.

In both the bedrooms and the changing rooms there are a range of accessible equipment including hoists, shower trolleys and mobile shower chairs.  Please feel free to call us to discuss your individual support needs.

There is also an Inclusive Fitness Suite with accessible equipment and all gym staff have achieved the national Inclusive Fitness Initiative Accreditation.
